Project mission
In the context of green chemistry promoted by Lombardy Region, the project focuses on the development of new productive processes that will be environmentally and economically sustainable in the pharmaceutic and chemical sector. This innovative method consists in the promotion of a bioconversions with microbial cells and purified enzymes that enables to overcome the actual limits of this innovative yet expensive procedure. The project performs an accurate study of new microorganisms and enzymes with the purpose to identify the most effective biocatalysts to be used for the modification and production of antibiotics. This achievement will enable not only the introduction of an improved productive process in chemical and pharmaceutical industries but also different application in several context, such as quality test for environmental decontamination
