Project mission

The ITEM project consists in the establishment of an inclusive cluster, which combines the expertise of 3 major companies with the scientific knowledge of 4 national research institutes, with the aim to promote a comprehensive methodology and strategic planning address to fill the Italian technological gap. In particular, the project focuses on the three main goals which lie in the implementation of technologies devoted to: the design of predictive systems in the sea, the production and use of marine resources and the validation of experimental processes for the protection of marine ecosystems. The project implies thus a strong cooperation between private and public actors in order to enact a protocol that can be used by governmental institutions to adopt competitive strategies for the improvement and conservation of sea wealth.
